„Death of Madam Dupin” storming the Balkans and abroad 03.05.2021At this year's competition, the young and promising Kraljevo publishing house "Poetikum", founded in 2019, with the mission of following modern poetic expression, shortlisted the "DEATH OF MADAM DUPIN" by the Montenegrin writer, Katarina Sarić, as the most innovative among the 148 manuscripts, that were submitted to the competition. It was published in a special Poeticum edition of "Ina Svetlost".The editor-in-chief of "Poetikum", Ivan Novčić, writer and publicist, stated that a strong, emancipatory female poetic voice that he encounterd was the reason for giving the special award to Katarina's book:"Deep intimate poetry is also an emancipatory female voice that often re-examines itself, without imposing the principles of branding the outside world. On the contrary, it goes deep under the crust of one's own existential and emotional accident. "A member of the jury, MSR Milica Milenković, stated the following about the author's poetic procedure: "Katarina Sarić, as we found out in one of the poems, was born under a red star / and grew up staring at Mika's blue one. From the red star (allusion to communism) to the blue (world of freedom and imagination), the life path of "Madame Dupin" is described through brilliant reminiscences in which what has been, what is experienced, as well as what is possible to be re-examined. The author's poetry is a kind of post-existentialist journey, presented through poetic mental images and urban photo-organs in the midst of neo-capitalism. "It is no wonder that “The Death of Madam Dupin” stormed the world of poetry in the region, as it represents the voices not heard before, the progressive, feminist and emancipatory ideals, which had no platform before. The book has for a long time been a secret tip, but has now reached France, where it will be published in the legendary Edilivre Publishing House. Further, the poetry is translated in German and will be presented to the German public through the Viennese literary journal Krug and other German journals. In addition, the English edition of the book published by the Literature Sauvage from Austria, will hit the stands by the end of the year. The book will be presented on many festivals and literary events.“This book represents the glory of the female inner world, which has long been considered not worthy of having a literary place. Katarina Sarić brought it back in all the splendor, colors and beauty”.
